Caring for your Treasures. When caring for your jewelry the best method is to allow a professional to inspect and to clean your pieces. Here at Steel's Jewelry, our staff is highly qualified to provide a superior service when caring for your jewelry. Professional cleanings are recommended every six months. However, minor cleanings maybe needed in between professional cleanings. Here are a few methods to do so.

Pearls

When cleaning pearls, depending on how often they are worn, can be cleaned with a polishing cloth, warm water and a soft bristled brush, or by simply having them restrung. Restringing is recommended every one to two years. Avoid submerging pearls in a solution to prevent silk from becoming discolored and needing to be restrung prematurely.

Some things to consider when keeping jewelry clean
Remove all jewelry before applying lotions or make-up.
Remove jewelry before showering or dish washing.
Keep all jewelry away from harsh chemicals such as bleach, chlorine, or the salts from a pool.
Remove jewelry when doing any physical labor.
